On Friday 29th June traditional wooden boat builder Gail McGarva visited us with her Story boat telling the story of 'Vera'the motherboat and the memory objects housed inside her. The Story boat project is the creation of a miniature maritime memories museum from an upturned boat in which people's working memories of our coastline are being recorded and preserved. The children came to school dressed as pirates and spent the day learning songs and listening to stories. At the end of the day the children walked with the boat through the village and performed the songs they had learnt.
