As a school, we have created a long term plan for each subject and have identified clear intent statements for all the foundation subjects. Each subject is taught in slightly different ways, but planning always focusses back onto our subject intent statements.
Some subjects are taught each week e.g. PE, while others are grouped together into more manageable chunks or units e.g. Design Technology and Science. We produce a termly planning document at the beginning of each term. This is published in the Newsletters section in our News and Events section in the school website. Every subject is taught at least once a term. We aim to repeat key skills regularly throughout each key stage and therefore embed them more effectively in children’s learning.
